Anyway, it was such a lovely day and an enjoyable walk, we we through the artists’ displays and manage to talk to some of them then we headed off to the restaurant for a meaty  Eat All You Can. Lunch at Rodizio Rico was really good and I know I should not say this but we stuffed ourselves full we had difficulty walking afterwards (sort of). We went to Kensington Gardens afterwards and met up a couple more people who went to the London Open House places.

We will wander around Borough Market to shop, observe and take photographs. This is a busy market with a lovely selection of shop and from recent visits, they are friendly too. Afterwards, we will go to Southwark Cathedral, prepare your £2 first for the photography permit! We will go there after the service and hopefully there is no wedding on that day.

Yesterday was our second market meetup in London. Our destination was Bayswater Market… some sort of open air art gallery on Bayswater Road beside Kensington Gardens. The weather was perfect for a stroll- warm and mostly sunny.

We met up at the Waffle House close to Queensway station and had a chat and breakfast. It’s lovely meeting new gaces as well as the meetup regulars. It makes photography more fun! I think I should explain to newbies what to expect during a meetup .. maybe I should next time

Bayswater market happens every Sunday where Bayswater Road is lines with original artworks for all tastes and budget. The artist are nice and very cheerful. They are also proud of their creations. Most of those I talked to did not bite my head off when I asked for a photograph!

After an agreeable stroll on Bayswater, we went to the park via Lancaster gate (Kensington Gardens). Kensington Gardens this time of year is full of flowers! We continued on to Hyde Park Corner in hope to catch the skating bunnies one memtioned by one of the members. We got there late so we got our caffeine/food fix and a stroll towards Speakers corner.

Borough Market

Borough Market is busy, noisy and bursting with wonderful produce. It’s best to come early and bring a large, strong bag or a shopping trolley. If you’re not familiar with the produce on the stalls, or you’re not sure how to cook it, just ask: the traders will be delighted to tell you about their specialities, where they come from and how to make the most of them. Look round carefully before you buy – the Market sells some expensive delicacies but there are also lots of delicious cheaper cuts of meat and good-value seasonal fish, vegetables and fruit.

The Market consists of four important areas:

* Crown Square, the area bounded by Southwark Street, Stoney Street and Bedale Street.
* The Green Market, the area beneath the railway bridges north east of Bedale Street beside the cathedral.
* The Jubilee Market, location of the 2006 Christmas Market.
* The shops and restaurants which surround the Market, located in Stoney Street, Park Street and Bedale Street.

Don’t miss any of them: Borough Market is rather a maze, but exploration yields delicious rewards!

There are a couple of DSLR User readers Scarebare and IvoreTower present. It was good to see new faces to share and enjoy a day wandering and taking photographs.

Special thanks to the entertainers for letting us close without grumping, to the lovely lady at Capel Antiques on #2 front centre stall, 100 Portobello Road for allowing us to photograph her silverwares, the crafty guy who sells beautifully crafted home decorations, the camera guy with his vintage cameras and a small selection of OM lenses I want to buy and the toy seller Milan Ardalic close to the bridge. Not to forget the Castle pub on 225 Portobelo Rd where we had our late lunch. It was great and thanks for not stopping us from using our cameras.
